Updated October 12, 2026. Eli Lilly filed five additional federal lawsuits on October 8 against businesses it alleges improperly sold or promoted products represented as retatrutide, its investigational obesity treatment. The cases are allegations, not judicial findings of wrongdoing.
Who was named?
Bloomberg Law identified American Peptides, LiveWell Peptides, Cenexa Labs, Medrein Health & Aesthetics, and MedShape Weight Loss Clinic. These filings follow six lawsuits reported in August 2026.
Why this matters to the research-peptide market
Retatrutide has not received FDA approval. Lilly’s legal campaign raises questions about how vendors describe experimental compounds, whether a research-only disclaimer is consistent with the rest of a website’s marketing, and whether service providers will continue supporting affected businesses.
In August, Reuters reported Lilly’s call for payment processors, shipping companies and online platforms to act against unauthorized sales. That does not establish that any specific PepDiscounts partner has lost processing or shipping access.
What has—and hasn’t—been decided?
Filing a lawsuit does not establish liability. The outcome of individual cases will depend on their claims, evidence, defenses and court rulings. A certificate of analysis also does not establish FDA approval or legal permission to market a substance for human use.
What to watch next
Watch for court rulings, FDA announcements, vendor policy changes, and payment or fulfillment interruptions. PepDiscounts will distinguish verified government and court actions from vendor claims.
